We all need a pitstop during a full day of shopping. Sometimes it’s just for a quick coffee, but sometimes we just need a bit more time to fully charge to go back in those streets again and be seduced by all those beautiful window displays.
One of those places, where I literally become a zen person, is the lounge of the Conservatorium hotel, in the city centre of Amsterdam. Even though it’s a busy place, it’s worth the experience to only enter the hotel and have look at this amazing building. The balance between dark colors, and lots of windows, with an incredible high ceiling is just perfection. In the weekend there is a pianist, who makes the atmosphere even better, and plays some beautiful tunes, to make your break even more pleasant. The price for a cappuccino may be an euro higher than at the coffeeshop in front of the street, but it’s definitely worth it, plus, you get some amazing cookies with it. During Christmas, this place is even more beautiful, but hey, what isn’t.
